Chris Cochran's early roots were in the technical side of television. He soon switched to television news, quickly rising to Managing News Director. He then moved to the wider opportunities of public television via KVIE in Sacramento.
In nearly nineteen years as Executive Producer, he developed and oversaw the production of virtually all of the station's on-air production efforts. This included hundreds of hours of award-winning series and specials and thousands of promotional spots. He has personally produced several series and more than 100 specials. Among Cochran's national credits while at KVIE are the long-running series of specials featuring noted author Leo Buscaglia and fitness guru Covert Bailey.
Cochran is also the winner of two regional Emmy Awards for live directing and several public relations and promotions awards.
In 1996 he started an independent production and promotion company, Chris Cochran Productions.
